For those interested in an accelerated undergraduate to graduate degree program, Emmaus offers a Bachelor of Divinity to Master of Ecclesial Theology track  (70 + 24 Hours). Master of Arts in Christian Ministry

For those with an undergraduate degree who are seeking to earn a master’s degree, Emmaus offers a Master of Arts in Christian Ministry (48 hours) for a broad introduction into Biblical Studies, Christian Thought, and Practical Theology. This basic master’s level program provides training and education for individuals to serve in a number of ministry and leadership roles. Students may either pursue a general track or select a focus concentration.

Master of Arts in Theological Studies  / Advanced MATS

Emmaus’ Master of Arts in Theological Studies (64 hours) builds on the MACM with greater depth, adding Biblical Languages for deeper exegesis. This comprehensive program provides men and women with rigorous theological training, deep spiritual formation, and practical ministry skills to serve Christ, His church, and His kingdom. For those wanting to also specialize in a discipline concentration, the Advanced MATS expands the MATS’s general electives to include a concentration for a total of 70 credit hours.

Master of Ecclesial Theology

For those who have completed Emmaus’ BDiv, MCM, MTS, or an equivalent theological master’s degree, and are interested in a deeper program of research and writing, Emmaus offers a Master of Ecclesial Theology (24 hours). This pathway is Emmaus’ most academically challenging and rigorous and is designed to push students to cogently communicate, defend, analyze, and critique the ideas of others as well as their own in conversations with their professor and fellow students towards an ultimate thesis project. The MET is a practitioner’s research degree, built around the application of theology in and for the church.

MET Program Requirements

​

Core Program: Biblical Theology for the Church Historical Theology for the Church Dogmatic Theology for the Church Practical Theology for the Church Concentration Seminars: Reading Seminar I Reading Seminar II Research Seminar I Research Seminar II MET courses align with the standards of other graduate courses, with the exception of reading and research seminars. MET reading seminars are expected to cover 2,500–3,500 pages of discipline-specific assigned readings in each seminar to cover a comprehensive bibliography for their discipline. MET research seminars will move from an initial prospectus and draft to a final thesis of 50–75 pages. The completed thesis is then presented and defended before a panel of their program supervisor and one outside reader.
