Biography
Dan grew up in a Christian home in Washington State, came to faith in Christ at a young age, and sensed a call to ministry during high school. Following his college and seminary training, he has served in a variety of roles, including youth pastor, discipleship pastor, church planter/catalyst, and lead pastor. His ministry passion is helping believers mature into disciple-makers through intentional ministry in the local church. He seeks to encourage pastors and church leaders with a practical vision for how biblical theology, mission, discipleship, and counseling intersect to advance the work of making disciples.
Dan currently serves as the Lead Pastor of Gateway Church in Grafton, Ohio. He and his wife, Amanda, have been married for 30 years and are the proud parents of five children. Alongside their ministry commitments, they operate a sign language interpreting agency that serves northeast Ohio. In his free time, he enjoys savoring good coffee, fixing things around the house, experimenting with new gadgets, taking the kids out on the boat, and working out several times a week.
Dan holds a Master of Divinity in Counseling from Grand Rapids Theological Seminary and a Bachelor of Science in Pastoral Ministries from Clarks Summit University (formerly Baptist Bible College). He is pursuing a Doctor of Educational Ministry at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, with an anticipated graduation in May 2026, and has also earned an Advanced Degree Certification in Biblical Counseling through the Association of Biblical Counselors.
